will catch up with everyone's blogs over next few weeks, family problems have kept me away, mainly my dad being in hospital, things looking up at the minute so i can find time to start blogging again,got off early from work today to go and see dad, popped into the garage and saw through the window this bird on the feeder, rushed into the house for camera and hastily took a shot, not good i'm afraid but will post anyway, i think, by looking on the internet that it is a linnet.

I think you're bird is a Lesser Redpoll. The bill colour and black bib, look about right to me.

So sorry to read your Dad has been ill Denis but pleased he is now on the mend. Very well done on your latest garden visitor!! I have never seen either a Redpoll or a Lesser Redpoll, I'm very envious :)

Nice to see you back and that your Dad is on the mend. Dads are tough old soldiers. I'm with ShySongbird..the only redpoll I've seen is a flagpost with undercoat on it!! :-)
