mr robin

our robin has decided to visit us again and is as friendly as ever, he came and perched at the side of me on the garden bench the other day (for 2 or 3 seconds), i think the mealworms i put there had a lot to do with it, managed to take a photo of him this morning.

sheppie pie

generally i make one of these per week, i put all kinds of things in, biscuits, cakes, bird seed, sultanas, dog food, lard and suet, the sheppies love it, and with so many tucking in it doesn't last that long.

missy at 6 months

not much happening with the birds at the moment due to the sparrowhawk making regular visits, haven't seen him catch anything or seen any signs that he has, we'll just have to sit it out, thought i'd update you on our missy, she is now 6 months old, had her first visit to the groomers on saturday, the mrs is not too pleased with the result, she has found out how to get upstairs and woke our granddaughter this morning with a nip to her nose.

goldies and sparrows

we have been putting mealworms in the mealworm feeder for quite a while now (at least 4 months), and up until now only the robin has found his way in (the female will not go in), we think that the sparrows have been watching the robin and decided that they will have some of that. we only get the sparrows from may - early october, does anybody know why that should be.

sparrows

sitting in the garden yesterday i noticed the sparrows flying off with mealworms in their beaks, wondered if it could be a second brood or a late first one.
